TRANSPARENCY IN ACTIVEWEAR PRODUCTION

Certification & Material Transparency

At WildBody, our mission is to transform how the activewear industry operates, and as a part of that, radical transparency is a cornerstone of our brand. And that includes transparency on our materials and certifications.

As a small independent brand, we choose to work with certified materials and responsibly audited manufacturing partners to ensure our products meet high standards for environmental responsibility and ethical production.

Rather than relying on vague claims, we're here to explain clearly how these certifications apply within our supply chain.

So here is a simple overview of the standards behind our materials, and what they mean for the garments you wear.

OUR MATERIALS:

Organic Cotton fabric standards

WildBody’s core performance fabric is made from 88% GOTS-certified organic cotton and 12% elastane.

The organic cotton provides the natural breathability, softness, and skin-friendly feel that sits at the heart of the brand. This cotton is certified under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) through our suppliers, confirming it has been grown and processed according to strict environmental and social criteria throughout the textile supply chain.

To ensure our garments still perform like activewear should, we include 12% elastane in the fabric blend. This small amount of stretch fibre allows the fabric to move with the body while maintaining durability, structure, and shape retention over time.

The result is a fabric that combines the comfort of natural fibres with the flexibility and recovery needed for everyday movement.

GOTS LICENCING & CERTIFICATION

Where is WildBody's GOTS licence number?

GOTS certification can apply at different stages of the textile supply chain – from the growth of the cotton itself, through to the yarn, the fabric, all the way through to the finished garments.

The organic cotton yarn used in WildBody garments is GOTS-certified through our suppliers, meaning the cotton has been grown and processed according to strict recognised environmental and social standards.

A simple way to think about it is like cooking: The ingredients can be certified organic, even if the person preparing the final dish isn’t the one holding the certification themselves.

In our case, the cotton itself is certified at the fibre and yarn level through trusted suppliers, which is why WildBody doesn’t currently hold a finished-garment GOTS Scope Certificate or display a licence number.

For a small independent brand, obtaining brand-level certification can be a significant cost and administrative process. Right now, we choose to invest those resources directly into certified materials, responsible manufacturing, and keeping our products as accessible as possible.

As we grow, we’ll always continue to explore additional certifications that strengthen transparency across the brand.

OUR FIBRES, DYES, & PROCESSING

OEKO-TEX fabric standards

Alongside organic cotton, our fabric partners also work with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified materials.

This certification focuses on textile safety, ensuring fabrics are tested for harmful substances and meet strict standards for human health.

This means that all of the fibres, dyes, and processing agents used in the fabric have each been assessed to ensure they’re safe for direct contact with skin – protecting you as you wear, sweat, and move in the pieces.

For us, this is an important extra layer of reassurance that the materials used in WildBody garments align with our commitment to low-tox fabrics and thoughtful production.

ETHICAL AND RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING

WildBody's commitment to ethical manufacturing

Another cornerstone of WildBody is ethical production at every stage. That's why we work with manufacturing partners who participate in BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) audits.

These independent audits look at many key areas of the manufacturing process, such as working conditions, worker protection, health and safety, and ethical business practices.

The most recent audit confirmed no child labour and no forced labour practices within the facility.

As a growing brand, we prioritise working with partners who take part in recognised third-party auditing and ongoing improvement programs, helping ensure the people behind our garments are treated fairly and work in safe conditions.
