Ethics & Impact

Is WildBody sustainable?

Absolutely. Sustainability guides every decision we make – from fabric to packaging. Our pieces are crafted from GOTS-certified organic cotton, a biodegradable, low-impact alternative to petroleum-based fabrics. Each order is shipped plastic-free in 100% compostable mailers, with a plantable thank-you card you can grow into wildflowers.

We work in small, considered production runs with ethical global manufacturing partners to reduce waste and maintain a light footprint. Every detail, from fabric to freight, is designed to be better for you and for the planet.

Is WildBody ethically made?

Yes, WildBody takes sustainability and ethical production very seriously. Our pieces are designed in Australia and crafted with global partners who share our ethical standards, fair working conditions, and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Furthermore, our mission to use GOTs-certified cotton not only protects you, the wearer, but also our manufacturing partners from chemical exposure. Organic farming supports healthier soil and ecosystems and helps maintain a transparent supply chain with certified ethical practices.

How does WildBody give back to cancer research?

WildBody proudly donates $2 from every order to Love Your Sister – a charity committed to vanquishing cancer with hard science and the best new technologies. Love Your Sister supports precision treatment for all cancer patients, whatever the cancer, regardless of location, age, income, or status.

What is GOTs-Certified Cotton?

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the world’s leading textile standard for organic fibres. It ensures that every step of the supply chain, from harvesting raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, meets strict standards.

Less than 1.5% of the world’s cotton is certified organic. Choosing GOTS means choosing the highest standard available for people and the planet.

Our Fabric

What is the issue with petroleum-based activewear?

Most activewear is made from polyester and nylon – plastics derived from petroleum. These fabrics can leach chemicals through sweat, heat, and friction, while shedding microplastics that have since been found in human blood, lungs, and even breast milk. The long-term effects are still being studied, but we thoroughly believe that exposure to plastics and toxins doesn’t belong on your skin.

What is the benefit of GOTS-certified cotton?

GOTS-certified organic cotton is the highest global standard for organic textiles. It’s grown without toxic pesticides, processed without harmful chemicals, and tested to be safe for your skin. It’s breathable, biodegradable, and traceable – a cleaner, safer alternative to plastic-based fabrics.

What dyes are used in WildBody products?

All WildBody pieces are coloured using OEKO-TEX approved dyes. OEKO-TEX certification is globally recognised as the gold standard for textile safety. Every component of the product, from dyes to threads is tested against harmful substances.

Why it matters:

  • Skin-safe and hypoallergenic ideal for sensitive skin.
  • Certified to be free from over 1,000 harmful chemicals.
  • Ensures that colours and dyes do not compromise health.
  • Environmentally safer dyeing processes.

OEKO-TEX is trusted worldwide as the highest safety benchmark for fabrics and dyes, ensuring what touches your skin is as clean as possible.

Are WildBody products biodegradable?

While our GOTS-certified organic cotton fabrics are built to last through everyday wear, they are also fully biodegradable, unlike petroleum-based synthetics that can take centuries to break down.
